Note that I have used this very infrequently, though the times I did print, I did a lot of printing full-color images. The colors and alignment have always come out correctly. The 'print head alignment' process is also very straightforward and the instructions were very clear! The only problem I have had with this printer is that eventually it ran into an issue in which it woud perpetually fail to feed the paper from the paper tray into itself during normal printing and become jammed every time it tries to print-- making a lot of noise. Since it's a wired USB printer and at my computer desk, I was able to manually adjust the alignment of the paper and get it to print correctly most of the time, but i had to really stretch and lean over to one side to do it, which for multi-panel images (something I have been doing to decorate my upstairs bedroom) it becomes extremely tedious. I ultimately took it to electronics recycling after I wound up wasting a lot of ink on failed/mis-aligned printed sheets that had to be re-attempted, often multiple times. If you feel like taking a gamble on how long yours will last, it's still worth the about $35-45 it usually costs. Check the description on the seller to see whether ink will be included-- when it is, that much is a bargain!Am writing a preliminary review in hopes that someone will see it who can solve my dilemma. My Win7 64-bit computer absolutely will not install this printer! Was very happy when I installed it initially on a VISTA 32-bit machine with no problems. Was able to scan and print. However, we bought the printer to work with the Win7 64-bit machine and have been trying for 3 solid days to get the driver installed but Windows keeps saying it can't find the driver and even when we install the driver (regardless of whether we use the CD to install or if we download the driver and install from that file), the printer software says it cannot detect the printer (even when it is connected and turned on).Can anybody suggest what might be the problem, as to why the Win7 64-bit machine will not communicate with the printer? As far as the printer/scanner itself, when it does work (on Vista), it is OK. It is noisy and clunky (plastic-y), but does an OK job of printing and a good-enough job of scanning. We are very frustrated that we can't seem to get it installed properly so it will work on the machine for which we bought it.Thanks in advance if anybody recognizes the problem and can clue us in!=============================IMPORTANT UPDATE TO MY EARLIER REVIEW:Something seems to have changed about this product at Amazon. When we bought it a couple months ago, it was called the CANON MG2520 ALL IN ONE PRINTER, COPIER AND SCANNER. Now Canon MG2520 is being advertised on Amazon solely as a printer, and Amazon is selling a Canon MG2420 all-in-one which sounds like the 2520 printer/scanner/copier that we bought? What's changed? Could this have anything to do with the fact that we cannot get this printer to install on our Win 7 64-bit machine? Did they change the printer &/or software since we bought the ORIGINAL MG2520? Our printer reads MG2520 on the front of it. It sounds like Canon is pulling some kind of 'switcheroo' because their software doesn't work right on 64-bit machines? Can somebody please clarify what is going on and HOW to get this MG2520 all-in-one to install on our 64 bit Win 7 machine? Hoping product deception is not the explanation for this strange situation!FINAL UPDATE TO MY REVIEW FOR THIS PRINTER: (MAY 22/2019)I never did succeed at getting this printer to work with a Windows7 64-bit machine. Instead, something inside the printer apparently broke and it is now useless. Would never recommend this plasticy piece of junk to anyone, and Canon should be ashamed for producing such trash... and for NOT providing a printer driver that works with 64 bit!Very chagrinedm to say the least. Most of what I print, I could use a black-and-write laser printer. Those are very fast, very quiet, and cost about 2c a page. This printer is pretty fast for a color inkjet and does a pretty good job of rendering color if you use better-quality paper that doesn't swell up when you lay a lot of different color inks down. For someone who doesn't print much, the ink tanks don't clog up before the ink is half used. It's also pretty quiet.I've had a color laser printer before, but it took seventeen guys and a 4-wheel-drive pickup with a winch to carry it upstairs, required more room than my wife's shoes, I had to buy a Kennedy roll-about tool box to set it on, it was noisier than that pickup I mentioned, and it shook so much that the local university called me when I used it, to make sure they weren't picking up an earthquake on their seismograph. And toner refills cost about $300. Ouch! When I moved, I left it behing, and thart was a shame; I would like to have that Kennedy tool box.To install on Win 10, do NOT use the install disk; instead, download the drivers, etc., from the Canon website.Canon scanners are great. And the software to run this as a scanner, a copier, and a printer, is good enough that my neighbor, a devout Luddite, can do all of those without reading the manual. I recommend using Irfanview, a freeware graphics utility, for scanning, because it's great for handling the images after you scan, but it's not necessary.I bought this to replace my 2420, because it's only a tad more expensive than the ink cart, and I thought it mighht have some sort of enhancement. I haven't found any enhancements yet, but the 2420 made my neighbor happy; and I was having trouble with fixing her Brother printer that didn't handle cheap paper very well. It's a big world out there, and there are surely other printers that will suit you even better, but I dpn't know what they would be. For most people, this is an excellent printer, doing everything they ask of it while costing little in deskspace, in purchase price, in paper and ink. Don't overthink it. This one will do.
