I picked this printer because it will used almost exclusively for color printing and it uses multiple color cartridges which can be purchased with higher capacity. Most people care about print quality and I haven't had it long enough. However there is a lot to dislike with the setup. The LCD is almost impossible to read and is not backlit. The manual setting menu on the device is challenging at best. I tried resetting the IP address on the panel and it was so difficult as to be unusable. Both from a setting standpoint and being able to read the display. I had to turn on the flashlight on phone to even see the display.I finally tried to figure out the web interface, again much more complicated than it should be. First challenge was figuring out the admin password. After some google searching I tried the serial number on the back of the printer which is in really small print. It worked. The web interface is also not clear but I was manually able to reset the IP address. I am using it on the LAN (yes, it has ethernet) so I don't know how difficult it will be set up WIFI. I can't image trying to type in the WIFI password on the almost unusable LCD screen.I tried downloading the printer management software and it didn't help with any of the more technical settings.I wanted to reset the printer admin password and I can't figure out where that setting is.I think this could be a decent printer for the money if they can figure out how to manage the setup. It comes with a set of standard cartridges. After running the printer alignment it was already about 15% used.I had a TS9020 that lasted about 3 years then decided to stop working with an error code. We liked that printer which is why we purchased this one. We have a brother laser printer that scans so we didn't need another all in one device.Follow up to my original review:My wife had done some printing. The quality is ok to good. She prints a lot from Cricket software. I can't find a setting in cricket print function to pull from the back tray. I had to set the printer preferences in the computer setup to always pull from the back tray.So after 3 days, visit to my tech guy to update my PC, and finally looking up trouble shooting, it works! Solution? I finally got the WPS "buttons" on my router and printer to talk to each other. Had to look up what a WPS was, which may sound pretty lame, but I am NOT a techie!! My last Canon cheapo worked in 10 minutes with no issues, so this was frustrating...I was about to box it up when I tried one last thing. Happily it works from another room and is fast. Print seems a little light, but I don't care. Having a glass of wine to celebrate!!This printer has the same features as my six year old Canon Pixma IP7220 that died. The cartridges even look identical, but of couse are not compatible, so a whole box of 250/251 cartridges went to the thrift shop. The photo quality is good, the plain paper quality is good, it prints on printable CDs. I'm satisfied.Easy to set up. Works perfectly. I wanted to use mine for edible printing and it worked perfectly the first time. Affordable and gets the job done. The printer produces high quality color photos. It consumes a lot of very expensive ink and is very slow. The software was written by morons who have no sense of how actual consumers use a printer. For example, the printer will not print from the front cassette if there is no paper in the rear tray. Why - who knows. You have to turn settings on each time you print - for example you can not turn off 2 sided printing and have that be the default. So if you want to put up with high cost, very slow output and poorly designed controls this is the printer for you.I did buy this printer for using print edible images for cakes and it does have these lines on a picture. Maybe someone knows is it fixable or not?Easy set up and printingDelivery was on time. Set up was incredibly easy. I chose not to include my phone in the set up as I prefer to edit and manipulate images on my laptop before printing. Installing ink - again no problem. I printed images for the first time today for a construction theme cake. They are BEAUTIFUL and look exactly the same as the original which I printed from my hp printer on paper. Print quality is excellent. Incredible value under $100! I’m so happy I made this purchase for unlimited cake design possibilities.
